Through the front door you enter a welcoming foyer lined with Victorian-inspired floor tiles — a mud room for jackets, shoes and wellies to one side, a luxurious half-bathroom to the other.
Continue into the central great room, where double-height windows rise above a roaring wood-burning stove and comfortable seating: a fine spot for drinks to rehash the day's golf at the nearby K Club or historic Carton House before dinner. Every room has been renovated with cosy wool carpets and warm accents of tweed, mixed wools and leather.
The House
01 — The Great Room
Soaring windows, a roaring stove and deep, comfortable couches. A staircase and balcony rise to the bedrooms above, so the room stays the social centre of every stay.
02 — The Kitchen
Designed and installed by local designer Kevin Kelly of Kelly Interiors in Newbridge, with superior bespoke cabinetry and a lighting design sure to delight. High-end Siemens induction and convection appliances for the cooks among you.
When the weather allows, a large glass wall retracts to bring the outside in — and the patio dining area becomes an extension of the kitchen. A concealed larder beyond holds plenty for longer stays, with laundry appliances tucked alongside.
03 — Living & Dining
A spacious living room with couches, an area rug, smart television and a second wood-burning stove. French doors open onto the back patio and the large garden beyond — and the dining table seats ten in comfort.
04 — The Bedrooms
Three bedrooms with queen beds and a master with a king, floor-to-ceiling windows over the landscape and a generous walk-in closet. Three have en-suite bathrooms; all have blackout curtains for the best night's sleep ever.
